OPEN POSITION:              SPECIAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTIONAL COACH & TEACHER MENTOR          

START DATE:                   2025-2026 School Year

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

The Special Education Teacher Mentor and Instructional Coach performs a critical role of support for new teachers in learning best practices and getting acclimated to the District. This position will support all first and second  year special education teachers as they refine their skills.  The Special Education Teacher Mentor and Instructional Coach will focus on supporting the new teachers as they develop confidence to make informed decisions, enrich their own understanding about teaching and learning, and continue to progress their own skill and development.  This position provides  professional development in the area of special education to various stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:           

• Completed a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited college or university
• Master’s Degree of higher preferred
• Minimum 5 years of successful classroom teaching which must include some experience as a special education teacher
• Valid Missouri Certification for Special Education 
• Experience leading teams preferred
• Experience leading professional development preferred
• Experience as a teacher mentor preferred
